Writing Guidelines for fiction

Guidelines

Please note that this information is provided as a guide, not as a substitute for extensive reading and research. There is no formula for writing a publishable friction novel. What are some other things you can do to help sell your manuscript? First, we expect you to enjoy reading. Second, remember reading is, for some, an emotional experience. When you put your words on paper, do so because you have something to share with other readers.

Figure out who you want your target audience to be and write with them in mind. Know and respect your reader.

There is no formula. Know your fiction genre, whatever the genre (science fiction, romance, thriller, adventure, etc) each has a format, do your research and come up with an interesting and exciting plotline.

All material should be the author's own original work. Stories that contain scenes or plotlines that bear a striking resemblance to previously published work are not accepteable and are in breach of copyright law.
